I created scene using WOMP (a free 3D building website) - a cloud getting stabbed, producing blood rain. I wanted it to have a simple cohesive plot still. Some of my art explore the ideas of killing something that is already lifeless or was never alive, and I think this fits great into that theme.
For the cloud I started with a donut shape and morphed it with circles. (I also created some new way points on the donut to make it bend more by using the option key when dragging). After this I made the sword/knife using simple squares. I believe I used command or even option again to sharpen the ends of the sword. I changed the sword color to metal to give it a more real vibe. as for the raindrops, they had a pre made shape for it. All I did was double click it and take away one of the two way points to make them a little more rounded. I then changed its material to glass. After this I placed red light sources in the center of the droplets and connected their path so they moved together.
Now on WOMP you are only supposed to really make 3D versions of projects and such, but its not for animation. They do have a screen record button though, so if you use simple movements with your mouse and then cut out the negative space in between each action you are doing (in Imovie, adobe, Etc..) it will make simple animations. For example, I dragged the sword with my mouse, then I dragged the droplets and ended the screen recording. I brought it into Imovie and that space of like 5 seconds in between drags of each objects I cut out... And then sped up each frame by 4x or 8x. This is how the simple animations above were made.
