I painted this with acrylic paint, outlined it with paint markers, and then coated it in resin to make the colors pop more. This painting was inspired by a red flower in a quick sketchbook painting I had done the year prior. The flower in the middle represents the mind the mind when making a tough design that is is going to affect someone negatively no matter the choice. On both sides of the flower I put two massive creatures that most people fear, they represent the two choices. Then there is also a third choice, which is depicted by the hole in the back... Which is not making a choice at all. This still will negatively affect someone, which is why the hole has blood coming out of it, because there is no way out. It almost makes you start to feel cornered. The background it pitch black to enhance the feeling of having nowhere to go.
The original notebook painting sketch that this painting was inspired from, was also a piece inspired from an even more brief drawing collage I had did even earlier of that year. That original, original piece should be the last picture.
16 x 20 in.
