Illustrated story with added collage poem about a boy who helps an injured hare with a magical fruit. They both start off hurt, yet the boy sacrifices his own health for the hare, as there is only on fruit. The hare is healed, but not the boy... The hare follows what any animal would follow, instinct. The hare runs, and leaves the boy to die - never returning the favor. The only way to go is forward. The piece is about being left behind by the ones you help closest. Realization is an occurring theme here. The pink ribbon represents the purity of the boys actions, his faith.
