Pure Sane

I saw a group of freshly bloomed flowers while on a trip in Spain. Out of the group, three white flowers stood out to me as they radiated something pure. The set of three white flowers... a reminder of life and the pure clean slate given when it begins.

I created this pieces using only a 2H graphite pencil for the flowers because I wanted to create an all around, cohesive, softness. As for the background, I contrasted this softness using something slightly darker, a 2B graphite pencil. I then used an eraser pencil to get my bright whites and decided to lightly hatch in the background to contrast the softness of the flowers even more without fully overpowering them.
